Salve Regina University is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10-month position to begin immediately.
Salve Regina University is an NCAA Division III institution competing in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The candidate will work under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer within a staff of 4 Athletic Trainers providing health care to approximately 475 student-athletes in 19 sports.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to coverage of practice and games (including travel), daily treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, referral to health care professionals, supervision of student workers and other administrative duties.
Experience working with collision sports, such as football and ice hockey, is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate quality clinical skills and knowledge, and a strong ability to work autonomously within department guidelines. An on campus interview is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with medical forms and oversee record keeping.
Take part in game and practice preparation and coverage as assigned to include travel with specific teams.
Assist in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes.
Train and supervise student workers.
Attend all department and conference meetings as directed.
Additional administrative and health educator responsibilities as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Director of Athletics.
OTHER DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Comply with OSHA regulations that pertain to blood-borne pathogens.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Director of Athletics.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
NATABOC Certification, Rhode Island Licensure, and a valid Driver's License are required.
Current Professional Rescuer CPR w/ AED, and First-Aid Certification.
REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree is required and master's degree preferred. Experience working with collision sports, such as football and ice hockey, is preferred. On campus interview strongly preferred.
