Rhody Surf, a Newport, RI beach-based surf company, is seeking a friendly, high-energy Weekend Beach Manager for starting in early August and through Labor Day Weekend.
The Beach Manager will report directly to Rhody Surf's owners and oversee the day-to-day operation of Rhody Surf's watersports concession at Easton's Beach in Newport, Rhode Island.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service:
The Beach Manager is essentially 'the face of the business' at the beach and will be interacting with customers who wish to rent watersport equipment or take surf/SUP lessons throughout the day.
We are seeking individuals who are approachable and strong communicators to fulfil this key area of service.
Scheduling:
The Beach Manager is responsible for maintaining the daily schedule of lessons.
They will oversee the surf instructors working alongside them and their availability for lessons.
Checking students in and ensuring waivers forms are completed.
Also, answering the phone and taking down reservations is part of scheduling aspects of this role.
Beach Site:
The Beach manager is in charge of setting up and breaking down the concessions stand on Easton's Beach.
This includes the tent, surfboards, paddleboards, and other aspects of the physical stand, which is housed and stored on-site in a trailer.
They are also in charge of maintaining a tidy operation - maintaining it throughout the day and cleaning off equipment.
Start Date & Shifts This seasonal position is primarily for the month of August.
Shifts are from 8 AM - 5 PM and an opportunity for additional weekday shifts later in the month of August are available as well, pending applicant's availability.

You are not actually teaching lessons.
You will be provided training needed for the position.
