Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Athletics Communications will assist the Director of Athletics in all aspects of athletics communication.
Primary responsibility will be handling media relations and alumni relations.
Additional duties will include collecting sports information and content, preparing media releases, covering athletic event and alumni engagements, creating a social media presence, coordinating website development, updating statistics, and game coverage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Working with the Director of Athletics, develop policies and procedures relating to all aspects of the sports information function and internal operations.
Prepare schedules, rosters, news releases, newsletters, programs, and other written material relative to men's and women's intercollegiate athletic programs.
Administer a system of files, statistics, results, and records for all programs.
Develop and maintain the Athletic Department Web Page.
Responsible for reporting updated sports information to both the University community and external media.
Work closely with the Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Office regarding feature stories on student athletes and staff.
Coordinate the Athletic Awards Ceremony, Hall of Fame Ceremony, and other recognitions.
Train and supervise work-study students involved in sports information responsibilities to include game statistics and office work.
Handle social media and create content for website and other media outlets Prepare Annual Reports and correspondence to alumni.
Work with Alumni Office for events and correspondence.
Work in concert with marketing to create branding and messaging consistent with the message and goals of the institution.
OTHER DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform other related administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Attend department meetings, designated events and assist with Admissions Open Houses if necessary.
Must adhere to all NCAA/NEWMAC/Salve Regina University rules and regulations.
In particular, all athletics personnel are charged with being knowledgeable of, and assuring and monitoring compliance by all student-athletes, coaching and administrative staffs with applicable governing constitutions, by-laws, rules, policies, interpretations and regulations of the NCAA, the University, and appropriate athletics conference.
Staff members shall immediately advise the Compliance Office if there is reason to believe that violations have occurred or will occur and shall cooperate fully in any investigation of possible NCAA or Conference violations.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Valid driver's license in good standing.
Current CPR, AED, and First-Aid Certifications.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Incumbent is subject to both inside and outside work and could encounter extreme weather conditions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, athletic administration, higher education or related field strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years work experience in athletic administration.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze, and make decisions related to operational efficiency.
Strong coordination and organizational skills required to effectively manage operational challenges.
Demonstrated human relations, and effective communications skills are required.
Ability to workday, evening, and weekend hours are required.
The successful candidate will possess highly developed communication and organizational skills, efficiency in computer usage and a high degree of self-motivation and dedication to all aspects of the intercollegiate program.
