BAE Systems in Middletown, RI, is seeking a full time technician V to support to the Naval Undersea Warfare
Center's Division Newport Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC). The selected candidate will be interfacing with our primary customer, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island. BAE Systems is an

The selected candidate will:
- Consult with engineers, supervisors and customer representatives to plan
the layout of equipment to be fabricated or installed
-Perform highly complex electrical/mechanical assembly, installation, testing, inspection and fabrication
tasking involving Navy towed sonar arrays and related systems
-Review customer specifications, design changes and related data to determine logistic
needs of projects and make recommendations. Review schedules, inventory reports, and work orders and confer with supervisor to determine type, quantity and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders
-Be responsible for identifying and resolving issues to maintain production schedules
-Oversee troubleshooting and diagnostic tests and procedures and evaluate results
-Work as a senior member of the production team and interface directly with the customer
-Design, assemble and set up test apparatus
-Be required to exert physical energy such as climb ladders, lift and carry heavy objects,
etc.
-Be required to maintain daily log of activities
-Be required to initiate requisitions for materials and equipment
-May be required to perform field changes and repairs at times
Required Skills and Education
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
Experience working at NUWC Division Newport or similar government installations
Ability to multitask and at times assign and oversee tasking of others
Extensive experience with shop practices and safety requirements
Strong understanding of electricity principles
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications
Experience with electrical troubleshooting equipment and general procedures
Knowledge of towed sonar array general construction and fabrication techniques
Experience with estimating tasking scope and assisting with assigning personnel tasking
Use of computer systems and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Extensive experience with soldering practices
Experience using hand and power tools
Strong verbal and communication skills
Preferred Skills and Education
Associate's degree and at least 8 years of related work experience
General knowledge of project management principles
Experience developing various types technical documentation (Test Plans, Specifications, drawings, etc.)
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or similar equipment
OSHA general industry training
