A mortgage company in Newport is looking for an Accounting Assistant in their Payroll Department. This is a full time opportunity looking for someone who is organized and eager to get their foot in the door!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create payroll reports
Collect time cards & process them weekly
Data entry - verifying accuracy, collecting, calculating and updating database system
Employment Verification
Review federal, state and local tax compliance
Address and correct any payroll discrepancies

Candidates must have an Associate's Degree but a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Previous Administrative or Accounting experience is required. An internship or 6 months to 1 years' experience will suffice. One must have light bookkeeping experience. You must be proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
This is a full time opportunity looking to start immediately.
